SYMPTOMS
If not all of the installation components have been downloaded on the
Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) computer, when you reach the
wizard's Select Installation Options screen, the three default options'
lists of components will be incomplete. (For example, if only the Internet
Explorer (IE) browser component is available, the installation options will
list the IE browser as the only component to be installed.)
CAUSEThe first time you reach the "Components to install" lists in the Select Installation Options screen, the screen lists only the components that are available. When you reach this screen, the wizard has already associated an installation option's name with its list of components (that is, Full Install=Internet Explorer Browser and nothing else). If you view this screen again after everything is downloaded, some options will not reflect that more components should be available. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, quit the wizard and restart it. Then, do not advance past the Download Internet Explorer Components screen until all necessary components have been downloaded. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in IEAK version 4.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available MORE INFORMATION
The optional components are additions to the Internet Explorer Suite and
complement the browser by providing an e-mail client, an HTML editor, and a
VRML browser, among others.
