Macintosh Internet Explorer Created with IEAK Does Not Properly View Signup Files

ID: Q209287

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit versions 4.0, 4.01

SYMPTOMS

When you are running the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) Wizard for Macintosh, you can choose how you want your signup HTML file(s) to be viewed. You can choose to view the file with Internet Explorer or with the Internet Connection Wizard (ICW), which is selected by default.

However, if you choose Internet Explorer as the option, the ICW is still used. This may cause problems with some signup server pages if they contain content that the ICW cannot view.

CAUSE

The IEAK generates the package with an incorrect entry in the "Start Here.isp" file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, edit the "Start Here.isp" file after creating your package. The "Start Here.isp" file is located in the Internet Setup folder, which is part of the custom package generated by the IEAK.

The IEAK adds the following section to this file when Internet Explorer is selected to view the signup HTML page(s):

[Custom_Mac]
Mac_68K_View_App=IE
Mac_68K_View_App=IE
This should be changed to the following:
[Custom_Mac]
Mac_68K_View_HTML_App=IE
Mac_68K_View_HTML_App=IE
