IEAK Setup Does Not Install Outlook Express after Minimum Installation of Windows 98

SYMPTOMS

The Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) Setup program does not install Outlook Express on your computer when you do the following:

1. Build an Internet Explorer Service Pack 1 installation package using the IEAK.
2. Perform a minimum installation of Windows 98 on the computer.
3. Install Internet Explorer using an Internet Explorer SP1 installation package created with the IEAK, without installing the Windows 98 extras.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.01 Service Pack 1.
