SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to remove Java support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 for Windows NT 4.0 by clicking Java Reference Implementation For Windows on the Install/Uninstall tab in the Add/Remove Programs tool and then clicking Add/Remove, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSEThis is a known problem that can occur with Java support for Beta versions of Internet Explorer 3.0 for Windows NT 4.0. RESOLUTION
To remove the files associated with Java support for Internet Explorer
3.0, install the released version of Internet Explorer 3.0, if it is not
already installed, and then remove it. Note that installing and then
removing Internet Explorer 3.0 in this manner does not remove the entry
for Java support on the Install/Uninstall tab.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Java Reference Implementation provided for Beta versions of Internet Explorer 3.0 for Windows NT 4.0.
