RESOLUTION

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows 95. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

NOTE: For information about how to edit the registry, view the Changing Keys And Values online Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). Note that you should make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat) before you edit the registry.

Change the UninstallString path in the following registry key so that it points to the Infinst.exe file and includes the Uninstall parameter (you must use short file names):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ Internet Explorer.
For example, change the UninstallString value to the following path (including quotation marks):
"c:\progra~1\plus!\micros~1\infinst.exe" uninstall
To determine short file names, right-click each of the folders in the path to the Infinst.exe file, click Properties on the menu that appears, and note the MS-DOS name.
