PRB: Unattended Internet Explorer 3.02 Setup Performs Standard Setup

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.02 for Windows 95
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.02 for Windows NT 4.0


SYMPTOMS

When you perform an unattended Setup of Internet Explorer 3.02, a standard Setup may be performed instead.


CAUSE

Setup was run with the /Q switch.


RESOLUTION

To perform an unattended Setup of Internet Explorer 3.02, use the following syntax:


   msie302 /Q:A 
You can also use "msie302 /Q:A /R:AS" to cause the computer to restart automatically after Setup finishes.

NOTE: These switches work only with the Msie302.exe file. They do not work with other files, such as the Msie302mnt.exe file.


MORE INFORMATION

The /Q:A switch is a new switch that has been implemented in version 3.02. The older /Q switch works only with earlier versions of Internet Explorer.
