SYMPTOMSWhen you double-click the Internet icon on the desktop, the Internet Connection Wizard (ICW) may start instead of the version of Internet Explorer that is currently installed on your computer. If you are using Internet Explorer 4.0, the Internet Connection Wizard included with an earlier version of Internet Explorer starts. In addition, if you proceed through the ICW and choose to configure your own Internet settings, you may receive one or more of the following error messages:
CAUSEThis problem occurs if you reinstall OEM Service Release version 2 (OSR2) after you install Internet Explorer. When you install OSR2, the Internet icon is configured to start the Internet Connection Wizard. When you reinstall OSR2 after installing Internet Explorer 4.0, an earlier version of the Internet Connection Wizard is installed. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, use the appropriate method.
