The Javalog.txt file is created in the Windows\Java folder when Java
logging is enabled and an error occurs when a Java program is run. The
Javalog.txt file can provide information about the Java error and the
classes affected. To view the Javalog.txt file, close Internet Explorer
and then open the Javalog.txt file with WordPad.
If a problem occurs when you run a Java program, a summary of Java error
messages may be displayed in the status bar in Internet Explorer. However,
the Java program may not write Java error messages to the status bar if
the Java program cannot be loaded.
To enable the Javalog.txt file, use the appropriate method:
Internet Explorer 3.0, 3.01, 3.02
- Quit Internet Explorer if it is running.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Internet.
- On the View menu, click Options, and then click the Advanced tab.
- Click the Enable Java Logging check box to select it.
- Click OK.

- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Internet.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click the Java Logging Enabled check box to select it.
NOTE: You many have to scroll down to the Java Logging Enabled check
box.
- Click OK.
