The default Internet Explorer window title is "Microsoft Internet
Explorer." However, the window title can be customized by Internet
Content Providers (ICPs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), or
corporate administrators using the Internet Explorer Administration
Kit. The window title can also be customized manually by editing

This article describes how to add or remove a custom Internet Explorer
window title by manually editing the registry. To do this, use the
appropriate method described below. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD). To Add a Custom Internet Explorer Window TitleUsing Registry Editor, add the String value Window Title to the following key in the registry:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MainThe data value is the title you want to appear on the Internet Explorer window. NOTE: In Windows NT, the value should be type REG_SZ instead of String. To Remove a Custom Internet Explorer Window TitleUsing Registry Editor, delete the following value in the registry:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window TitleWhen you delete this value, "Microsoft Internet Explorer" becomes the default window title.
