The minimum hardware requirements for installing Internet Explorer are:
- A personal computer with a 486 or faster processor.
- 12 megabytes (MB) of memory (24 MB recommended).
- At least 34 MB free hard disk space. The actual requirement varies
depending on the features you choose to install.
- A VGA or higher-resolution monitor.
- A Microsoft or compatible mouse.
- An Internet connection.
- A "Files=50" entry (without quotation marks) in the Config.sys file.
How to Install Internet Explorer
- Connect to following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/ie/download NOTE: If you do not have access to the Web site, you can order
Internet Explorer 4.01 on CD-ROM from Microsoft at (800) 360-7561.
- Under Internet Explorer 4.0, click "Internet Explorer 4.0 for Windows
3.1 and NT 3.51," click Download Now, and then click Next.
- Click the Internet Explorer language you want to use, and then click
Next.
- Click the download site closest to your location, and then click
Install Setup.
- If you want to install Internet Explorer now, click "Run this program
from its current location," and then click OK. If you want to install
Internet Explorer later, click Save This Program To Disk, click the
appropriate download location, click Save to save the file to your
hard disk, and then click OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to install or download Internet
Explorer.
