SYMPTOMS

While you are installing Internet Explorer on a Microsoft Windows 95-based computer that has Norton AntiVirus 4.0 installed, the computer may stop responding (hang).


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, upgrade to Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 or later. For information about obtaining a later version of Internet Explorer, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/ie


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01.
