Some Icons Not Visible While Using a Monochrome Display

SYMPTOMS

If you start Internet Explorer or Outlook Express in Reverse Video mode on a monochrome display by using the "-bg black -fg white" command-line parameters, some icons may not be visible, including:

  • Mail envelope icons that mark a message as read or unread


  • Triangle icons that indicate the direction of sorting


  • Folder icons when using the Copy To Folder command



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
