SYMPTOMSWhen you view the contents of a drop-down list box on a Web page, items in the list may not be displayed in the correct order, and you may receive the following error message when you attempt to scroll through the list:
CAUSEThis problem can occur if the drop-down list box contains more than 4096 items. Internet Explorer for Macintosh can display only 4096 items in a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) drop-down list box. RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, contact the Web page author (or the administrator of the Web server) and request that the list be split into two smaller lists each containing 4096 items or less. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 for Macintosh. MORE INFORMATIONThis problem occurs only with Macintosh-based versions of Internet Explorer.
