SYMPTOMSWhen you run a Quiet-mode Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Setup on a computer that already has Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 installed, you receive the following message: Setup has detected that the newest versions of Internet Explorer components are already installed. To exit Setup without making any changes, click Exit. To reinstall the current version of Internet Explorer, click Reinstall.When you run a Quiet-mode Internet Explorer 5 Setup on a computer that already has Internet Explorer 5 installed, the installation progress dialog box appears and before anything is installed, Setup abruptly stops, and the installation progress dialog box disappears. You do not receive a message. RESOLUTIONWARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems
that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry
