Explorer Bar Not Hidden in Full Screen Mode

SYMPTOMS

When you have the Search, Favorites, History, or Channel Explorer bar open in Internet Explorer, the Explorer bar may not be automatically hidden in Full Screen mode.


RESOLUTION

To automatically hide the Explorer bar in Internet Explorer when you are using Full Screen mode, use the following steps:

  1. If you do not have an Explorer bar open, point to Explorer Bar on the View menu, and then click Search, Favorites, History, or Channel.


  2. If you are not using Full Screen mode, click Full Screen on the View menu.


  3. On the Explorer bar, click the Pushpin button.


  4. Click a blank area in the Internet Explorer window to hide the Explorer bar.



STATUS

This behavior is by design.


MORE INFORMATION

This behavior does not change the functionality of Internet Explorer.

In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, the Explorer bar is hidden automatically by default.
