GP Fault Error Message When Running JScript After Starting Many Programs

SYMPTOMS

When you run Internet Explorer 4.01 in Microsoft Windows for Workgroups after you start a large number of programs, you may receive a general protection (GP) fault error message when you run a specific piece of JScript code. The error message may be similar to:

Application Error
IEXPLORE caused a General Protection Fault in module JSCRIPT16.DLL at 0001:21AF


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer service pack that contains this fix.
