Viewing Web Page Causes Access Violation in Explorer.exe

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to view a Web page, you may receive the following Dr. Watson error message:

An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.

Explorer.exe
Exception: access violation (0x0000090), Address: 0x6006d4e8


CAUSE

This problem can occur if you are attempting to view a Web page that supports Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language (DHTML) positioning.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
