Cannot View File on Secure Web Site When You Click Back

SYMPTOMS

When you use Internet Explorer to view a file on a secure (HTTPS) Web site, view a different Web site, and then click Back, you may receive the following error message:

Server execution error
When this occurs, you cannot view the site.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are using the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" feature in Internet Explorer.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do not use the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" feature in Internet Explorer:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.


  2. Click the Advanced tab, and then click to clear the Do not save encrypted pages to disk check box.


  3. Click OK.
