SYMPTOMSThe year listed for some files on an FTP site may not be correct for files on a UNIX-base FTP server when the files are viewed with Internet Explorer. In most cases, this problem occurs when the current year is used for files. For example, files created in October, 1998 may be displayed with an October, 1999 date. CAUSEInternet Explorer's UNIX FTP date extraction routine assumes the year for each file to be the current year. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from
Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be
applied only to computers experiencing this specific problem. If you are
not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that
