Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 for Windows NT 4.0:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONThis fix causes Internet Explorer to search for proxy settings in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ProxySettingsPerUser registry key. If the ProxySettingsPerUser value exists and has a value data of 0 (zero), proxy settings are obtained from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry hive. In all other cases, proxy settings are obtained from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive, which is the previous behavior. Additional query words: 4.00
