Radio Toolbar Disappears When Switching to Full-Screen View

ID: Q220098

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 for Windows 95
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 for Windows 98
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 for Windows NT 4.0

SYMPTOMS

If the Radio toolbar is enabled and you switch to full-screen view (by pressing F11 or by clicking Full Screen on the View menu), the Radio toolbar may disappear. If you are listening to content using the Radio toolbar, the content may stop playing.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Radio toolbar is enabled in windowed view, but not in full-screen view.

RESOLUTION

Enable the Radio toolbar after switching to full-screen view:

  1. Switch to full-screen view either by pressing F11 or by clicking Full Screen on the View menu.

  2. Right-click the toolbar, and then click Radio.

MORE INFORMATION

As is the case with other toolbars in Internet Explorer, the Radio toolbar settings in windowed view and full-screen view are independent of each other.

If you enable the Radio toolbar before to switching to full-screen view and it does not reappear after returning to windowed view, you can change this behavior by modifying the "Always show Internet Explorer Radio bar" setting on the Advanced tab in Internet Explorer properties.
