Requirements for using MSN Internet Access with a Macintosh are:
- An existing MSN Internet Access account
- The account setup information for the MSN account
- Mac OS 8.0 or later
- A modem
- A web browser and an e-mail client
Using an existing MSN account on a Macintosh computer can be done by following these instructions:
- Click the Apple menu, and go to Control Panels.
- Open the TCP/IP control panel.
- Set the TCP/IP settings to connect via PPP.
- Set Configure: to Using DHCP Server.
- Close the TCP/IP control panel, and save the changes.
- Open the Remote Access control panel
- Click Registered User, and then enter your MSN username in the Name box as follows: MSN/userID.
For example, if john_doe was your MSN Member ID, you would enter, MSN/john_doe
- Enter your local MSN dial-up number in the Number box.
- Click Connect.
To obtain the local dial-up numbers for your area, go to https://rac.msn.com/popcheck/, and follow the instructions provided.
