SYMPTOMSWhen you install Internet Explorer 5, the "Check for newer versions of stored pages" option is set to Automatic regardless of its setting in the previous version of Internet Explorer. RESOLUTIONTo work around this behavior by reverting to the previous setting, follow these steps in Internet Explorer:
STATUSThis behavior is by design. MORE INFORMATIONIf you set the "Check for newer versions of stored pages" option to "Every visit to the page" in a previous version of Internet Explorer, the entire page is downloaded regardless of whether or not images are changed. Internet Explorer 5 provides an Automatic setting that provides faster viewing of Web pages whose images do not change frequently. Over time, when the browser determines that images on the page appear to be static, it checks less and less frequently for newer image versions (even if the page itself is updated daily). When you chose the Automatic setting, you can load the latest version of the page by clicking the Refresh button in the browser. Additional query words: cache wininet
