SYMPTOMSWhen you click a link that references a local Intranet site with an Internet Protocol (IP) address instead of a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN), your request may be sent through a proxy server instead of using a direct connection. Also, this problem may occur even if you have specified an exception. CAUSEThis problem can occur because of a problem in Internet Explorer that occurs when determining if a name is in the bypass list. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next version of Internet Explorer
