Date Picker Control Does Not Allow 4-Digit Year Input After 2035

SYMPTOMS

When you are using a program that uses the Date Picker control and you type a date later than the year 2035 using four digits, the date may be mapped to 19XX instead of 20XX. For example, if you enter 2045, a date of 1945 may be displayed instead.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer service pack that contains this fix.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

This has been corrected in Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2.
