  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 for Windows NT 4.0
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 for Windows 95

SUMMARY

The Microsoft Web Events page includes a set of Internet radio stations that can be opened in the Internet Explorer Radio toolbar. This article describes how to listen to any Internet radio station or streaming audio site using the Radio toolbar.

MORE INFORMATION

The Internet Explorer Radio toolbar is available when you have Microsoft Windows Media Player installed. It supports the same set of audio formats as Windows Media Player, but only stations listed on the Web Events site may be available to open in the Radio toolbar.

There is an URL format you can specify to make any supported audio stream play in the Radio toolbar, rather than opening the stream in Windows Media Player. To accomplish this, type vnd.ms.radio: and then the URL to the location. For example:

vnd.ms.radio:http://servername/mediafile
While you are listening to the stream, you can add it to your favorites by clicking Radio Stations on the Radio toolbar, and then clicking Add to Favorites.
