Internet Explorer Service Pack 2 Setup Folder Has Incorrect Name

SYMPTOMS

When you install Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 (SP2), the name of the folder containing the setup files may not be "Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 Setup."

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you choose the "download only" option during the Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 installation. When you do so, the folder that is selected to hold the setup files is not renamed to "Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 Setup."

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, when you are prompted to choose the destination folder, specify the name of the folder as Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 Setup.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
