Internet Explorer Auto Disconnect Feature Set to 5 Minutes After Using Netscape Communicator

SYMPTOMS

When you use Netscape Communicator 4.51 to view Web pages on the Internet, the value for the Auto Disconnect feature in Internet Explorer may be changed to 5 minutes.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you install a version of Netscape Communicator that is provided and customized by your Internet service provider (ISP).


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, rename the Muc.dll file in the Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program folder, and then reconfigure the Auto Disconnect feature in Internet Explorer.
