.pac File Is Applied to LAN Instead of DUN Connection

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

If you have a Dial-Up Networking (DUN) connection that contains a pointer to an automatic configuration (.ins) file that uses a .pac file to set the proxy server for that connection, the proxy server may be set for a LAN connection instead of the DUN connection.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next next release of Internet Explorer that contains this fix.
