Internet Explorer 5 Does Not Handle Office 97 Bookmarks Correctly

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Office 97 documents that contain bookmarks for jumping from one section to another do not function when you viewing them by using in-place editing with Internet Explorer 5.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer 5 has changed the way it handles bookmarks.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
