SYMPTOMSAfter you install Internet Explorer and attempt to start the program, an MS-DOS command prompt window is opened instead of the Internet Explorer browser window. CAUSEThis behavior occurs if the Internet Connection Wizard (ICW) is not installed properly during Internet Explorer Setup. RESOLUTIONWARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor
can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Method 1Remove the installed components key for the ICW component and reinstall Internet Explorer:
