SYMPTOMS

When you print a document from Internet Explorer 4.5 to an Epson Stylus Color 740(i) printer and you choose to enlarge the image or page beyond 278 percent, the following error message occurs:

4xx is not a valid entry, please input a value from 25 to 400. Click OK to select 400.

Your only options are to OK, or quit Internet Explorer. This behavior occurs with any version of the Stylus Color 740(i) printer drivers.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, when you print documents or images in Internet Explorer, use a zoom value of 278 percent or lower.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
