SYMPTOMSAfter you install Active Desktop, you may not be able to set the policy to remove the Options tool in Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because the NoOptions policy setting was added as a new restriction in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 and has the same functionality as the NoFolderOptions policy in Internet Explorer 4.0. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems

If you set the NoFolderOptions policy with the NoOptions policy, the policy works with Windows NT classic shell and the Internet Explorer shell.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorerthe folder options are removed from the Start menu, as well as the Options tool on the View menu in Windows Explorer. If you do not have Active Desktop installed, you need to set the NoOptions policy to get the same behavior. The NoBrowserOptions policy only removes the Options tool from the browser window.
