SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to connect to a secure Web site, which is using a Thawte certificate, you may receive the following warning that the certificate has expired:
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the server sends its own valid certificate and its expired Certificate Authority (CA) certificate. Internet Explorer checks the certificates and finds that the CA certificate has expired, so it rejects the certificate. Internet Explorer does not look for additional CA certificates that may have a valid date range.
