.pdf File Is Displayed as a Blank Page on Redirects

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to download Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files in an Internet Explorer frame when a redirect is involved, the data is not loaded into the frame.


CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the client does not close the port after receiving the redirect and before making the new request.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 5.01 service pack that contains this fix.
