BUG: "New Class..." Item in ClassView Shortcut Menu Disabled

SYMPTOMS

The "New Class..." item on the Shortcut menu displayed by right-clicking in ClassView becomes disabled after changing the Active Java Project configuration.


RESOLUTION

  1. Select Insert.New Class... from the Main menu as an alternative.


  2. Setting the Active configuration to the one that was active when the project was initially open enables the "New Class..." item in the ClassView shortcut menu.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create a default Java Applet Wizard project.


  2. In ClassView right-click to display the Shortcut Menu. The "New Class..." Shortcut menu item is enabled.


  3. Select Build.Set Active Configuration.


  4. Set the configuration to a configuration not currently set.


  5. In Classview right-click to display the Shortcut menu. "New Class..." Shortcut menu item is disabled.
