FIX: DhCell.resetTextAlign() Does Not Update Cell Display

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Visual J++, version 6.0
Microsoft SDK for Java, version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

DhCell.resetTextAlign(), which sets the cell text alignment property back to match the alignment property of the row the cell is in, does not work.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, set the text-align style in your Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) to an empty string. For example, for a DhCell called "cell," you would do the following:


cell.setCSSStyle("text-align", "");

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

In Visual J++, select New Project from the File menu.

In the New Project dialog box, click the New tab.

In the Visual J++ Projects tree, click Web Pages.

Click Code-Behind HTML.

Click Open to create the project.

Modify Class1.java as follows:

   }

   {

Modify Page1.html as follows:

Run the project.

RESULT: The Web page contains the word "Testing," which is right-aligned and appears in a gray box, instead of the default, which is left-aligned.
