Configuring IBM MWave Sound Cards

SUMMARY

This article describes how to configure the IBM MWave sound card in IBM Aptiva computers for use with Microsoft ActiMates characters and the ActiMates PC Pack, or the Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro joystick.

This information was tested with the following sound card drivers:

IBM MWave Driver version tested: 2.01

To configure the IBM MWave sound card to work with ActiMates products or SideWinder Force Feedback Pro joystick, you must enable the external MIDI port (MPU-401) on the sound card. This is accomplished by running the MS- DOS based program provided with the sound card. To do so, use the following steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to MWave, and then click Hardware Configuration.


  2. Choose a different Input/Output value. The program automatically sets the Input/Output value to 330 or 330H.
