SUMMARY

The Microsoft Office Converter Pack installs additional text converters and graphic (image) filters not included with any of the programs listed at the beginning of this article.

NOTE: When you install the Microsoft Office Converter Pack, only the converters and filters appropriate for your version of Microsoft Word are available to install. If you have multiple versions of Microsoft Word installed, the Microsoft Office Converter Pack Setup detects them and makes the appropriate converters and filters available to install.

You can install the Microsoft Office Converter Pack from the Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit CD-ROM. The Microsoft Office Converter Pack must be installed separately from the other applications; it is not installed by the Office 2000 Resource Kit Setup program.

How to Install the Microsoft Office Converter Pack

• Run Setup.exe from the following folder on the Office 2000 Resource Kit CD-ROM:

  CD-ROM drive\PFiles\ORKTools\ToolBox\Tools\OCP\

  Follow the instructions to install the Microsoft Office Converter Pack on your computer.
  
  NOTE: To distribute the utilities for others to install, you need to deploy all of the files in the OCP folder from a network installation point.

• The Microsoft Office Converter Pack is also available on the Microsoft Office Resource Kit Web site on the World Wide Web at the following Microsoft Web address:

  Locate the Microsoft Office Converter Pack files from the above Web site. There are two files available for download:
  
  
  • Convpack.exe for 32-bit operating systems (Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, and Microsoft Windows NT)
  
  
  
  • Cnvpck16.exe for 16-bit operating systems (Windows 3.x)
  
  
  
  These files are the same and install all additional text converters and graphic (image) filters appropriate for your version of Microsoft Word; they just have different installation methods.

  Double-click the file that you downloaded (either Convpack.exe or Cnvpck16.exe) and follow the installation instructions.

To Uninstall the Microsoft Office Converter Pack

1. Quit all Windows programs.



2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.



3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.



4. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click to select Microsoft Office Converter Pack, and then click Add/Remove.



5. Click Yes to the following message:




Are you sure you want to completely remove 'Microsoft Office Converter Pack' and all of its components?
