Remain Connected to Internet After Send or Receive

SYMPTOMS

After you finish sending or receiving e-mail using Outlook Express, you may not be disconnected from the Internet, and this may occur even if you previously enabled the "Hang up After Sending and Receiving" feature.


CAUSE

This problem can occur if the connection to the Internet was established before you started Outlook Express to send or receive e-mail.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next version of Outlook Express that contains this fix.
