How to Download and Install DirectX
To play DirectX games across a firewall, verify that all computers
in the game are running DirectX 6.0 or later, and then ask your network
administrator to configure the firewall to use the following settings:
- Allow an initial outbound TCP connection on port 47624.
- Allow subsequent inbound and outbound connections on TCP and UDP
ports 2300-2400.
- Set appropriate permissions for DirectPlay (Client).
For additional information about how to configure firewall or proxy
server support for DirectPlay 6.0 games, please see the "Firewall Support
in DirectPlay 6.0" topic in the DirectX 6.0 or later SDK Help file.
