SYMPTOMSUninstalling Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or Outlook Express 5.01 may result in removing Outlook Express from the computer altogether. CAUSEIf Outlook Express 4.x was not previously installed on the computer, there is no version of Outlook Express to revert to. Internet Explorer can revert from version 5.01 to version 5, but Outlook Express can revert from version 5.01 only to the last full version of Outlook Express that was installed. If Outlook Express 4.x was never installed, there is no full version to which Outlook Express can revert, causing Outlook Express to be removed entirely. RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, reinstall Internet Explorer from the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
