SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to log into the Outlook Web Access client using an SMTP recipient address and specify the full SMTP address in the login box, the following error may occur: Attempting to login a second time with this SMTP address may cause the Internet Information Server (IIS) or Outlook Web Access (OWA) server to crash. CAUSEThe MAPI and Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) profile names constructed from the input SMTP address exceed the maximum characters allowed. This only occurs with an extremely long SMTP name such as the one shown below, where the Username is followed by the site, org and .com: exlistuser@extremely.extralong.microsoft.com STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. service pack for Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5.
