SUMMARY

By default the Windows Messaging System (WMS) is not installed with Windows 98, and must be installed separately. Some Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) may wish to install WMS to provide Extended MAPI support for Windows 98.

This article directs you to the location of WMS on your Windows 98 media.

The Windows Messaging System installation package is located on the OEM Windows 98 CD in the following folder:


   \tools\oldwin95\message\us

   \tools\oldwin95\message\intl

The preceding folder contains a file called Wms.exe, which installs the full Windows Messaging System, including the MAPI subsystem, thereby providing full Extended MAPI functionality.
