PC Win SNADS: 10 Character SNADS Gateway-Template Info Only

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Mail Gateway to SNADS, version 3.0
Microsoft Mail for Windows, versions 3.0b, 3.2

SYMPTOMS

If you use a SNADS gateway name containing 10 characters, the template information will only be displayed in the network address list in Mail for Windows. Template information will not be displayed in the Global Address List (GAL), Postoffice Address List, or Personal Address List.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in versions 3.0b and 3.2 of Microsoft Mail for Windows. This problem is corrected in the MSSFS.DLL file available on the Microsoft Software Library (MSL) as MSSFS.EXE, a self extracting file.

You can find MSSFS.EXE, a self-extracting file, on the following services:

Microsoft's World Wide Web Site on the Internet
On the www.microsoft.com home page, click the Support icon.
Click Knowledge Base, and select the product.
Enter kbfile MSSFS.EXE, and click GO!
Open the article, and click the button to download the file.

Internet (anonymous FTP)
ftp ftp.microsoft.com
Change to the Softlib/Mslfiles folder.
Get MSSFS.EXE

The Microsoft Network
On the Edit menu, click Go To, and then click Other Location.
Type mssupport.
Double-click the MS Software Library icon.
Find the appropriate product area.
Locate and Download MSSFS.EXE.
