PC Rmt: Attachments from MAC Clients Show Garbage File Names

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Mail Remote for MS-DOS, version 3.0


SYMPTOMS

When MS-DOS remote mail users receive attachments from a Macintosh user, the file names are illegible.


CAUSE

The Remote client is missing the MAC Binary code.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:
