X400: Message Containing ISO 6937 Body Part Is Not Delivered

SYMPTOMS

When you send a message that contains an ISO 6937 body part from Microsoft Mail for PC Networks to a foreign system through the Microsoft Mail Gateway to X.400, the foreign system may not deliver the message.


CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Microsoft Mail Gateway to X.400 does not properly encode the encoded information type (EIT) for ISO 6937.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
