Err Msg: NetShow Administrator Requires Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 4.01 or Later

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Windows NT Server NetShow Services, the following error message occurs:

The NetShow Administrator requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.01 or higher. You can install Internet Explorer at http://www.microsoft.com/ie.

CAUSE

Microsoft NetShow Services requires that Internet Explorer 4.01 version 4.72.2106.8 or later is installed prior to installing NetShow Services 3.0. NetShow Services 3.0 will not install on computers running Internet Explorer version 4.0 or earlier.

RESOLUTION

Use the following steps to determine which version of Internet Explorer you currently have installed:

1. Open the Web browser.



2. Click Help.



3. Click About Internet Explorer.



4. If the version number displayed is earlier than 4.72.2106.8, install the current version of Internet Explorer from the following Web site:

   http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/download/windows.htm
