SYMPTOMSWhen you distribute a stream between two Windows Media Services servers through an HTTP proxy server, you may receive the following error:
CAUSEThis is usually due to proxy permissions. If you are using Microsoft Proxy Server, the permissions may be incorrect in the Windows Media Administrator, or the Windows Media Services may have insufficient permissions to access the Proxy Server computer. RESOLUTIONOn the Proxy Server computer, give the account that the Windows Media Services is trying to access the Internet through, the proxy permission to access the Internet. This account is specified in the Windows Media Administrator by selecting Server Properties, clicking the Distribution Authentication tab, and then providing an account that has access to the Proxy Server computer. On the Proxy Server computer, make sure this same account has permissions to access the Internet. MORE INFORMATION
Proxy servers can require users to provide authentication before they are allowed to access the Internet. If you have a Windows Media Server on the Internet and you are distributing a station to a Windows Media Server on the inside of a proxy server requiring authentication, the Windows Media Server on the inside of the proxy must provide proxy credentials.
