How to Set the Windows Media Encoder to AutoStart When Starting Your Computer

SUMMARY

It is possible to set the Windows Media Encoder to automatically start when you start your computer. This can be done by creating a batch file or shortcut and setting it to start when you start your computer.

To do this, place the batch file or shortcut in the Startup group.

Use the following Command line syntax:


<PathToEncoder>\NsRex.exe /start <PathToASD>

Such as (note the quotes for paths with spaces):


"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Tools\NsRex.exe" /START C:\Drop\CDaudio.asd

Note that the key here is the /Start switch. If you have to log in to Windows, the items in the Windows Startup group are not processed until after you log in.
